For whatever reason, there are stories going around about TNA making a big financial offer to C.M. Punk, and him turning it down. Multiple TNA sources deny that being the case. Either way, there's a very small chance of him returning to the ring, and I highly doubt it'd be for TNA if he did. Punk was in attendance at a recent OVW show, but it was likely just because of his friendship with Cliff Compton.
Triple H talked about NXT vs. the main roster and more. The NXT facilities are amazing, and attitude is very important in ANY job.
It's possible Chris Jericho works a few upcoming TV tapings before going back on the road with Fozzy. There's not much reason for him to work a few weeks of TV before disappearing again, but a cameo during the European tour would be nice.
Everything else from Thursday is after the break.
WrestleMania was ranked one of the top brands in sports. I'm glad it's so successful.
Eddie Edwards talked about a number of TNA topics. Their matches with Team 3D and The Hardys were amazing as far as all the big moves and spots they did. I think they can all be proud of their work there.
The former Drew McIntyre contrasted WWE with indie wrestling. He's one hell of a talent and should be making someone a lot of money. Him feuding with Sheamus would have been really good, and he's dead-on about wins and losses.
TNA's Bram did an interview that was more about Ric Flair and his time in WWE than about TNA. Bram is a better fit there than WWE. He can just show up and fight instead of having to have an in-depth character.
Hideo Itami, the former KENTA, talked to WWE.com. He's definitely got a lot going for him as he comes into the company.
Ted DiBiase, Jr. briefly talked about wrestling in a piece about his current career. I think he'll be quite successful. The work ethic he needed to become a wrestler is very impressive.
John Cena granted another Make-A-Wish. He's insanely driven.
Kevin Steen did a two-part interview in Miami. I'm really interested to see how he'll fare in WWE.
WWE will show Tribute to the Troops at 8 p.m. on December 27. I'm sure there will be some celebrity crossover there.
The Rock jokingly blew off appearing at WrestleMania 31. I definitely think there's a possibility he at least appears there. I wouldn't rule out a match, but his movie schedule is going to take precedence and he's ended up worse for wear his last few matches. I think it might be better for him to appear to hype up his cousin Roman Reigns.
Wednesday's Impact did 1.10 million viewers, slightly up from the previous week. I think they're doing some pretty good stuff at this point, but a lot of people have given up on the product.
Eric Bischoff talked about signing Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to WCW and more. I'm sure there's a lot of info WWE has distorted to portray themselves as the virtuous victors of the Monday Night War. I also really doubt Ted Turner cared enough about pro wrestling post-WCW to try to get back into it. It was just one part of his company, not his focal point like WWE is to Vince. All in all, a great read.
For my take on Thursday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE was in a difficult situation with Night of Champions. They wanted to give heat to Rollins as a top heel in Brock's absence, and also tease dissension within The Authority. So that's the ending they went with.
2. I also think it could potentially damage Rusev for the reasons mentioned. It was a good cameo, but it certainly made Rock look like more of a star at the expense of a growing talent. Rusev needs to get his heat back by destroying Show and so on.
3. Hogan's been working the mic for a long time. He knows how to do it.
4. I don't think WWE and Sable are on the best terms as far as that kind of thing goes, but I also think we'll eventually see her in the Hall of Fame and all that. She was an important figure for a time.
5. I think that could be a good angle if done right. I don't necessarily think it's the right move right now, but it could work. I like the idea of Sandow taking a lot of abuse from Miz and eventually coming to his senses that he's turned into everything he used to despise as the Intellectual Savior of the Masses.
More wrestling coming up.
