WWE Hell in a Cell preview

Read on for how I'd book tonight's WWE PPV.
Kickoff:
I think there's a lot of fun to be had with "MizdowTV". Mizdow can put Miz's Hollywood credentials over, etc. I think the appropriate way to end it is to have Sheamus get fed up with Mizdow and Miz grandstanding and trash the set, leading to the first match of the PPV.

Hell in a Cell:
As much as I like Sheamus, I think they can do some fun things with Miz as champion. I think they can do something with Miz hitting Sheamus with a thumb to the eye leading to Sheamus trying to pin Mizdow instead. Miz takes advantage of the confusion to become champion. Mizdow gets his own replica title and we see vignettes of Miz and Mizdow walking red carpets and such as U.S. Champion(s). Get everything you can out of the gimmick, I say. Maybe Miz and Mizdow act out different roles as champion or turn the title into an Oscar-esque trophy or face "extras" from obscure film roles? They could do some fun stuff with it. Maybe Sheamus comes into a role as a Celtic warrior for the rematch?

Ziggler and Cesaro tear it up in their match. Ziggler wins in fall three. I think the next step is for Ziggler to challenge some of the superstars who don't already get a lot of TV time to prove himself as a hardworking champion. First, though, he's going to have a battle of pride against his fellow Cleveland native, the new U.S. Champion, leading to Survivor Series.

AJ Lee beats Paige in the final singles match of their series. I hate to do it, but I think I'd combine their feud with the Total Divas stuff for Survivor Series. I definitely don't want AJ vs. Paige and Brie vs. Nikki going past that show, so they might as well kill both feuds in one match.

Nikki beats Brie to set up the blowoff match at Survivor Series. The Divas' locker room splits into two factions to nicely set up an elimination match for that PPV to settle the Bella feud. Brie's team would win with AJ beating Nikki to set up the next Divas' Title feud.

Goldust and Stardust retain against The Usos. It's not time for them to lose yet. After the match, Bray Wyatt attacks The Usos with his new associates, The Ascension. I think WWE can mesh those two gimmicks well. Rowan and Harper can stay off TV for a bit before returning to go for the tag team gold as faces. I think a feud between Rowan/Harper and The Ascension could work well.

The last thing I want out of Show vs. Rusev is for all the heat to be transferred to Show vs. Henry. Henry throws in the towel while Show's in the Accolade to set up a triple threat at Survivor Series. Henry and Show can duke it out at TLC. They shouldn't sacrifice Rusev to get to a feud we've already seen a good deal of.

Of note, neither Brock Lesnar nor Randy Orton or advertised for Survivor Series. So booking's going to have to compensate for that.

I say Orton shoots his mouth off backstage about how he's sick of what's going on with Seth Rollins, and The Authority has to choose either Orton or Rollins.

In in initial draft of this, I had Cena vs. Orton headlining. But I think it's time to shake things up.  Orton beats Cena to become the new #1 Contender. He brags about this backstage during the downtime before the main event of Rollins vs. Ambrose. There should be a match between the two cell matches to bring the crowd back down.

Ambrose and Rollins have a WAR in their HIAC match. Ambrose wins after putting Rollins through hell. Once it's over, The Authority comes down to get revenge on Ambrose's win. After Ambrose escapes through the crowd, HHH, Rollins, and Kane turn on Orton and take him out (possibly via cinder blocks). Their explanation would be they couldn't trust Orton to be a team player, and it's best for business for Lesnar to remain champion as long as possible and all that stuff. Orton vs. Lesnar is set in motion for the Royal Rumble. But before that, we have Cena and Ambrose vs. HHH and Rollins (or Cena/Ambrose/Reigns vs. HHH/Rollins/Kane) to headline Survivor Series. With no Orton or Brock, they're short in the top names department. I suppose they could do Cena vs. Rollins vs. Ambrose, but Cena and Ambrose have more or less made up.

For Survivor Series:
Team Miz (Miz/Mizdow/Cesaro/Bo Dallas/Tyson Kidd vs. Team Ziggler (Ziggler/Sheamus/Big E/R-Truth/Swagger)
Team Brie (Brie/AJ/Natalya/Naomi/Emma) vs. Team Nikki (Nikki/Paige/Alicia/Layla/Summer Rae)
Rusev vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry
The Usos vs. The Ascension
Goldust and Stardust vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods (vs. Los Matadores vs. Rybaxel if Ryback's cleared by then)
Cena/Ambrose(/Reigns) vs. HHH/Rollins(/Kane)

As far as adding to the card goes, they can presumably do Darren Young vs. Titus O'Neil or something else from the Adam Rose/Slater Gator angle. Maybe Los Matadores vs. Slater Gator if Rybaxel's a no-go for the tag title feud. Alternately or additionally, they can do a showcase of NXT talents on the PPV. The roster feels pretty thin right now, so I'm having to grasp at straws to a degree.

More wrestling tomorrow.
