NXT and Superstars Reax - 10/9/14

Read on for my thoughts on Thursday's NXT and Superstars.
NXT:
I liked Breeze vs. Rawley a good deal. I hope Breeze continues to step his game up in the ring, because he's really got some potential.

I liked the Enzo/Cass/Carmella segment well enough. Regal's the right authority figure for this brand.

Itami vs. Viktor was pretty nice. I think both acts could move up to the main roster just fine, but they should save Itami for a little down the line to give him the right amount of hype. Maybe after WM31?

Nice segment to build heat for The Ascension. This has been a great feud already.

They've made good use of Funaki here, since he's not an active wrestler. I wish non-wrestlers were used more strategically on the main roster. Often they get over at the expense of the people who have matches.

Fine enough promo from Enzo and Cass. Their act works, as different as it is.

That was a good tag match. The Vaudevillains have worked together pretty well in their short tenure. Enzo and Big Cass are also getting pretty fluid.

Good Sami Zayn promo. He sold his opponent as someone worth fighting.

Good match between Sasha and Becky. There's some solid Divas wrestling in NXT.

That was a pretty great match between Zayn and Titus. A solid story was told, and Zayn can definitely hand with people on the main roster.

The interesting dynamic between Neville and Zayn continues. I'm liking this angle overall.

Superstars:
Slater vs. Ryder was pretty enjoyable. I wish we got more from the lower-card names on Raw and Smackdown instead of so many segments with the same set of people.

It's really sad how far Ryder's fallen. I'm glad he got a win in NY, but I think that might be all we get from the Revolution in 2014.

Naomi did her best with Cameron, so this match was serviceable. It's a real shame Cameron has "Total Divas immunity", because she should probably still be working NXT.

More wrestling coming up.
