Read on for my fantasy booking of tonight's Hell in a Cell PPV.
First off, I think this show might need a 7th match. To set that up, Antonio Cesaro can be dressed up (i.e. not in his ring gear) insulting Aksana when Booker T. walks by and makes him defend his championship against the winner of a fan poll. The poll would include low-to-midcarders. No former World/WWE Champions. Cesaro either wins via Neutralizer or powders out depending on who it is. It's teased that Aksana could end up with his opponent.
For the Divas match, Eve should steal the win after Layla and Kaitlyn have friction. They should both want rematches, but be interrupted by Natalya who says they had their chance. Then you can possibly include other Divas who also want a shot at the title, depending on who has their working boots on. The point is to set up a situation where a good number of Divas are going for the gold and it means something to have it.
Kane and Daniel Bryan have friction in their match, too. They tag each other in hard and try to one-up each other. Sandow and Rhodes take advantage of this frustration by playing mind games and eventually getting the upper hand. Kane brings in a steel chair. Bryan tries to stop him from using it. Kane attacks all 3 men for a DQ finish. Going forward, there's more tension between Kane and Bryan, and Rhodes and Sandow use the attack as further fuel to complain and insult. Rematch next month.
Kofi wins a solid match clean to retain. The announcers put both men over as the stars of tomorrow.
Del Rio beats Orton clean in a hard-fought match. If Orton fails a Wellness test, he's fired for a full year. He needs to be booked like every feud could be his last.
Sheamus retains against Big Show in a "torch-passing" moment (from the Attitude Era guy to the current star). After the match, he offers to shake Big Show's hand, as both men brought their all. Show chokeslams him and walks off. Dolph Ziggler cashes in MITB after hitting Sheamus in the head with the briefcase. New World Champion.
C.M. Punk and Ryback have a brawl. The best finish I've seen suggested is having Ryback clothesline Punk through the cell and them both be stretchered out from the impact of it. Before I read that, my idea was to have Paul Heyman steal the key from the referee, enter the cage and distract Ryback as Ryback is marching Punk for his finisher. Ryback would drop Punk and hit his finisher on Heyman. Punk would recover and hit the GTS to retain. Either way, Ryback's mostly protected. Punk vs. Ryback vs. Cena next month.
I'll be back tomorrow for how the show actually goes down.
